Why Your Support Matters

This website is a labour of love. It has been created to explore, celebrate, and share the rich cultural, historical, political, economic, and societal journey of Trinidad and Tobago from 1935 to the present. It is also a space for personal reflection, where national events are viewed through the lens of lived experience and community memory.

While a wealth of information about Trinidad and Tobago already exists in books, newspapers, archives, academic research, and private collections, LifeInTrinidad.org seeks to complement those resources by bringing history, culture, and everyday experiences together in ways that are accessible, engaging, and meaningful.

There are no ads on this website. That’s intentional. We believe in offering a clean, focused, and respectful space for learning, discovery, reflection, and discussion.

But building and maintaining this website comes with real costs. Funding is needed for research, writing, hosting, design, multimedia production, and the ongoing development and promotion of the website.

How You Can Help

If this website brings you insight, inspiration, or a deeper connection to Trinidad and Tobago’s history, culture, and lived experiences, and if its mission resonates with you, please consider supporting us in one of the following ways:

1. Make a One-Time Donation

Every contribution, large or small, helps keep the website alive, growing, and accessible to everyone.

2. Sponsor an Article

Would you like to honour a loved one, a teacher, or a community that shaped your life? You can sponsor the research and writing of an article that reflects an aspect of Trinidad and Tobago’s history, culture, or social development. Your name (or the name of someone you wish to honour) can appear as a quiet tribute at the end of the article. For example,

“This story was made possible by the support of the Hosein family from Kolahal Road, Charlieville, in memory of their grandmother, a lifelong educator.”

Please note: While sponsorship helps make this work possible, all articles are independently researched and written. Sponsorship does not influence article content, conclusions, interpretations, or editorial decisions. Maintaining accuracy, integrity, and editorial independence remains a core principle of this website.

3. Provide Technical or Creative Assistance

We welcome individuals who are passionate about storytelling, history, culture, education, and technology to support us in two key areas:

  1. Content development, including research, writing, editing, photography, and multimedia production.
  2. Technical support for the ongoing development, improvement, and maintenance of this website.

Your skills, knowledge, and time can help expand the stories, memories, perspectives, and experiences shared on LifeInTrinidad.org.

If you’re interested in contributing, please reach out to us. We’d love to hear from you!
