Do Kaliyan is a Hindi remake of the Tamil film Kuzhandaiyum Deivamum (1965), which itself was inspired by the Hollywood classic The Parent Trap (1961).
The film starred Neetu Singh (credited as Baby Sonia) in a double role as twin sisters Ganga and Jamuna. This was one of her earliest and most memorable child performances. Neetu Singh would later marry the Bollywood superstar, Rishi Kapoor. She is the mother of Ranbir Kapoor and the mother-in-law of Alia Bhatt.
