| Mukesh | Mukesh |
| mere man ki Ganga aur tere man ki Jamuna ka bol Radha bol sangam hoga ke nahin mere man ki Ganga aur tere man ki Jamuna ka bol Radha bol sangam hoga ke nahin are bol Radha bol sangam hoga ke nahin | The river Ganga of my heart and the river Jamuna of yours Tell me Radha, will they ever unite? The river Ganga of my heart and the river Jamuna of yours Tell me Radha, will they ever unite? Tell me Radha, will they ever unite? |
| Vyjayanthimala | Vyjayanthimala |
| Nahin … kabhi nahin | No … never! |
| Mukesh | Mukesh |
| kitni sadiyaan bit gayi hain haay tujhe samajhaane mein mere jaisa dhiraj vaala hai koi aur zamaane mein dil ka badhta bojh kabhi kam hoga ke nahin bol Radha bol sangam hoga ke nahin mere man ki Ganga aur tere man ki Jamuna ka bol Radha bol sangam hoga ke nahin are bol Radha bol sangam hoga ke nahin | So many years have passed since I’ve been trying to convince you I don’t think there’s anyone in the world who is so patient Will the increasing burden on my heart ever reduce? Tell me Radha, will they ever unite? The river Ganga of my heart and the river Jamuna of yours Tell me Radha, will they ever unite? Tell me Radha, will they ever unite? |
| Vyjayanthimala | Vyjayanthimala |
| Ha ha ha … ja ja! | Ha ha ha … Get lost! |
| Mukesh | Mukesh |
| do nadiyon ka mel agar itna paavan kehelaata hai kyoon na jahaan do dil milate hain swarg vahan bas jata hain har mausam hai pyaar ka mausam hoga ke nahin bol Radha bol sangam hoga ke nahin mere man ki Ganga aur tere man ki Jamuna ka bol Radha bol sangam hoga ke nahin are bol Radha bol sangam hoga ke nahin | If the union of two rivers is called to be so holy Why not where two hearts meet? Heaven settles right there Every season is the season of love, isn’t it? Tell me Radha, will they ever unite? The river Ganga of my heart and the river Jamuna of yours Tell me Radha, will they ever unite? Tell me Radha, will they ever unite? |
| Vyjayanthimala | Vyjayanthimala |
| nahin, nahi, nahi, … hatt | No, no, no, … Get lost! |
| Mukesh | Mukesh |
| teri khaatir main tadpa yoon tarse dharati saavan ko Radha Radha ek ratan hai saans ki aavan jaavan ko patthar pighale dil tera nam hoga ke nahin bol Radha bol sangam hoga ke nahin mere man ki Ganga aur tere man ki Jamuna ka bol Radha bol sangam hoga ke nahin are bol Radha bol sangam hoga ke nahin | I have yearned for you like parched land yearns for rain I chant “Radha” with every breath I take Even a stone would melt, will your heart ever melt? Tell me Radha, will they ever unite? The river Ganga of my heart and the river Jamuna of yours Tell me Radha, will they ever unite? Tell me Radha, will they ever unite? |

Fun Facts
The Ganges River (Ganga in Hindi) is a sacred body of water to Hindus that begins high in the Himalaya Mountains and empties out into the Bay of Bengal. The Yamuna River is the second-largest tributary of the Ganges River. Triveni Sangam in southern Uttar Pradesh is one of the holiest places; it is the point where the Ganges River and the Yamuna River meet. “Sangam” means “confluence”.
The song is picturized on Sundar (Raj Kapoor) and Radha (Vyjayanthimala). Sundar likens the meeting and merging of the Ganga and Jamuna rivers to the uniting and merging of his heart with Radha’s. This is why he sings, “If the union of two rivers is called to be so holy, why not where two hearts meet?”
The Rigveda refers to the auspiciousness of the confluence of the Ganga and Jamuna rivers by saying, “Those who bathe at the place where the two rivers, white and dark, flow together, rise up to heaven.” This is probably why Sundar sings, “Heaven settles right there”.
